Kuroshio evokes the warm ocean current that runs from the Philippines to Japan. It is often represented by black and blue colors, "kuro" meaning "black" in Japanese.
The traditional Hotaru© pearls are charged with light to give it back when plunged in the dark. Comparable to the light emitted by fireflies, it is this phenomenon that owes its name of firefly pearl to this treasure of Japanese craftsmanship.
