Le Doigt opens the Manus Impia collection: a sterling silver skeleton hand, wrist wrapped in a knotted band, knuckles clenched into a fist with one finger raised — no apology, no explanation needed. The Romans already had a name for it: digitus impudicus, the shameless finger, and Diogenes the Cynic is said to have used it to answer those who tried to put him back in his place — the worst insult one could throw at a free man, turned back against power itself. Banned, mocked and punished for centuries by church and state alike, the gesture has never stopped resurfacing whenever an established order tried to silence those who refused to look away.
