Thursday: Borknagar (8:00 PM), epic Viking black metal, the best possible opening to the evening at the Temple. Skáld (10:10 PM), Nordic neo-folk, a ritualistic experience in its own right.
Friday: Rotting Christ (8:35 PM), thirty years of atmospheric black metal and anthems that give you goosebumps even in broad daylight. Carach Angren (6:35 PM), theatrical and precise symphonic black metal. My Dying Bride (10:45 PM), gothic doom death, one of the festival's most emotionally intense performances.
Saturday: Behemoth (00:55), absolute night headliner, blackened death metal at its peak. Gaerea (16:55), masked Portuguese post-black metal, one of the most visually and sonically intense bands in the current scene. Oranssi Pazuzu (18:35), Finnish psychedelic black metal, a unique hallucinatory experience.
Sunday: Mayhem (11:15 p.m.), the closing of the Temple by the founders of Norwegian black metal, a historic moment. Marduk (8:50 p.m.), pure and uncompromising blast beat. Wolves in the Throne Room (6:40 p.m.), atmospheric American post-black of rare intensity.
