Manus Impia: The new Flibustier Paris collection

Manus Impia : La nouvelle collection Flibustier Paris

There are gestures that centuries have failed to erase. Forbidden, ridiculed, condemned by the Church, the State, and the moralists of every era, they have continued to resurface, carried by those who refused to look away. Manus Impia, Flibustier Paris' new collection, pays homage to them in 925 sterling silver, hand-sculpted, and made in France.

Two gestures, one collection

The collection revolves around two emblematic gestures, etched into collective memory long before becoming icons:

The Finger: the Roman's digitus impudicus. Diogenes the Cynic already used it to respond to those who sought to bring him into line. Proscribed for centuries by both Church and State, this gesture has never ceased to resurface whenever an established order tried to silence those who refused to submit. Even today, raising it is to return contempt to the sender, without a word.

The Horns: originating in the Mediterranean region to ward off the evil eye, they have endured through the ages before being reappropriated by 1970s hard rock. Raised towards the stage, they no longer ward off bad luck: they claim it, brandished as a rejection of moralistic prudishness and the religious order that demonized the music itself. A gesture born to protect against misfortune, it has become the standard of those who prefer to embrace it.

The collection's pieces

Each piece is a 925 sterling silver skeleton hand, wrist encircled by a knotted link, sculptural, precise, and made in France.

The Finger | 925 Sterling Silver Pendant

A sculpted skeleton hand, fist clenched, from which a single finger rises, direct and unapologetic. 36 mm high, 5.76 g of 925 sterling silver. Chain sold separately.

The Horns | 925 Sterling Silver Pendant

The same skeleton hand, this time raising the index and pinky fingers. 36 mm high, 6 g of 925 sterling silver. Chain sold separately.

The Finger | 925 Sterling Silver Stud Earrings

The miniaturized digitus impudicus, worn on the lobe. A pair of 925 sterling silver skeleton hands, clenched fist and raised finger, an assumed provocation, discreet in size, but not in statement.

The Horns | 925 Sterling Silver Stud Earrings

The sign of the horns as earrings: a pair of skeleton hands raising the index and pinky fingers, a call to the underworld worn with elegance.
